Occupational health

Employers have a duty to manage health issues that could affect an employee’s ability to work safely and effectively. Occupational Health (OH) services play a vital role in meeting this responsibility - and in supporting the wider health and productivity of your workforce.

An effective OH programme does much more than help you meet legal obligations under health and safety law and the Equality Act 2010. It also provides crucial early intervention, helping to prevent short-term health issues from becoming long-term absences.

By supporting employees to remain in work or return as soon as they’re able, OH services help reduce disruption, protect business productivity and ensure your people feel supported.

Occupational health services can include pre-employment screening questionnaires to confirm new hires are fit for work and meet legal requirements under the Equality Act 2010.

Additional services, such as health assessments and referrals, provide comprehensive support, helping employers maintain a safe and compliant workplace.

Absence strategy

Effectively managing employee absence is crucial for maintaining productivity and controlling costs. Our service is designed to simplify and streamline the approach for organisations of all sizes, from SMEs to large, global businesses.

We work alongside your HR team to review existing processes, identify inefficiencies and provide tailored guidance to improve the absence journey. We can also look after the administration of absence claims. Find out more about our claims concierge service.

We can arrange monthly absence calls to include your HR team, the Everywhen team and appropriate insurer to discuss current absence cases, cases of presenteeism or situations of concern. On the call we will understand the circumstances of each case and what appropriate support is needed to assist and support the employee with their recovery. This may be rehabilitation or early intervention support from an income protection policy. It may also be counselling or talking therapy from an employee assistance programme, mental health support services or other support services that are available from your benefits package

These calls ensure absence situations are identified early and employees are supported at the earliest opportunity, resulting in reduced absence and associated savings.

In addition, we can offer expert advice on the most effective services for your business, from vocational rehabilitation and group risk solutions to employee assistance programmes.
